The Sonotopija event series continues and expands upon the curatorial directions of our FriFormA\V series (2018–2024), with an even stronger emphasis on exploring the intersections of contemporary music, sound art, and multimedia practices. The name combines the roots sono (sound) and topia (place), symbolizing an imagined sonic landscape — a space where art, technology, and social themes converge. The events present a distinctive combination of sound installations, experimental audiovisual compositions, and electroacoustic music.

A central component of Sonotopia is Sounding Spomenik, a long-term artistic research project dedicated to exploring the sonic dimension of memory embedded in the abstract monumental memorials of the former Yugoslavia.
